The City of Tucson's Fire Department seeks an Emergency Vehicle Technician Supervisor to lead maintenance of emergency response vehicles and equipment, ensuring safety and reliability.

With a specialized fleet of emergency response vehicles, the Tucson Fire Department provides the latest technologies, training, and industry certification opportunities to keep the fleet management team and the fleet at the forefront of the industry.
The Emergency Vehicle Technician Supervisor plans, coordinates and supervises the daily activities and work assignments of the technicians and staff involved in the repair and maintenance of the Fire Department's apparatus, ambulances and support equipment. Workflow is based on Tucson Fire Department policies, manufacturer requirements, and applicable NFPA standards.
The Emergency Vehicle Technician Supervisor classification is included in a skill-based pay plan which provides compensation for achieving and maintaining 30 ASE and EVT certifications required for this position as listed below. ASE and EVT certification fees are paid for by the department with a passing score. Employees in this classification are required to progress through the levels of certification in a consecutive manner as listed below. Entrance into the classification requires achievement of the following certifications within the first year of employment:

Position Specific Summary The Emergency Vehicle Technician Supervisor at the City of Tucson's Fire Department supervises personnel in the maintenance, repair, and modification of emergency response vehicles and their components in a busy and fluid environment. Work is performed under the supervision of the Emergency Vehicle Fleet Superintendent. This position exercises supervision over division personnel.
Working Conditions: Indoor and outdoor work with some exposure to physical, ergonomic, or emotional hazardous environment. All duties and responsibilities listed are subject to change.
Minimum Qualifications 6 months post high school and 4 years of directly related experience Experience: 4 years of recent, relevant experience in supervision, management, or in a lead position in related field(s) Valid and Unrestricted Class D operators license Ability to lift equipment and materials up to 75lbs Completion of the City of Tucson Supervisor Training Program after hire Section 609 Air Conditioning Refrigerant Recovery and Recycling certification within 30 days of hire Ability to work in a fast paced environment Ability to work shift work if needed Ability to work weekends, holidays, and after-hours as needed
