Job summary

The Zelinsky Company in Hawaii is seeking a full-time Estimator/Project Manager to prepare detailed cost estimates for commercial and industrial painting and wallcoverings, review plans, and take-offs.

You will manage budgets, track costs, coordinate schedules, and communicate with clients and general contractors to ensure quality, safety, and on-time delivery. Documentation and use of estimating/project management software are expected.

Qualifications

• Strong estimating skills in construction-related fields, including Construction Estimating and Project Estimation.
• Proficiency in Cost Management and Budgeting to support accurate proposals and ongoing project financial tracking.
• Effective Communication skills for collaborating with clients, contractors, vendors, and internal teams.
• Experience with commercial or industrial painting, wallcoverings, or related trades is highly beneficial.
• Ability to work independently, manage multiple projects, and meet deadlines.
• Comfort with digital tools, Excel and software for estimating, project management, and documentation.
• Attention to detail, strong analytical skills, and a commitment to safety and quality standards.
• Relevant education or training in construction management, engineering, business, or a related field is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Review plans and scopes of work, perform quantity take-offs, and manage budgets.
• Track project costs throughout the project lifecycle and coordinate schedules.
• Communicate with clients and general contractors to support delivery and timelines.
• Maintain organized documentation using estimating and project management software.
• Contribute to continuous improvement of estimating and project processes.
