Job summary

Lexicon Senior Piping Estimator will develop cost estimates for industrial piping systems, fabrication, installation, and maintenance for energy, petrochemical, and heavy industrial projects.

The role requires extensive estimating experience, strong piping standards knowledge, and proficiency with leading estimating tools. Travel to job sites and collaboration with executives are expected.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of estimating experience in piping/mechanical construction.
• Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent technical background.
• Strong understanding of ASME, API, and industry piping standards.
• Proficiency with estimating and takeoff software (e.g., Bluebeam, Primavera, Aspen Capital Cost Estimator).
• Experience in oil & gas, petrochemical, or heavy industrial projects preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed estimates for piping materials, fabrication, welding, and installation.
• Review and interpret P&IDs, isometric drawings, and equipment specifications.
• Quantify piping spools, valves, fittings, supports, and insulation.
• Calculate labor productivity rates based on material type and installation method.
• Solicit pricing from suppliers for pipe, valves, and specialty components.
• Develop project schedules, man-hour forecasts, and resource plans.
• Identify constructability challenges and propose value-engineering solutions.
• Lead bid reviews and presentations for executive leadership.
• Mentor junior estimators and support team growth.
