Job summary

FindTalent is seeking an experienced Lead Estimator – Industrial Electrical to lead the estimating process for complex utility and industrial electrical projects, from initial review through bid submission.

Responsibilities include mentoring estimating staff, preparing detailed cost estimates, performing takeoffs, coordinating with project management, and ensuring compliance with NEC and industry standards.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience in electrical construction or estimating.
• Proven leadership or mentoring experience within estimating teams.
• Strong background in utility or industrial electrical projects.
• Experience with contract review and negotiation support.
• Proficiency with estimating software (e.g., AccuBid Anywhere) and MS Office.
• Strong understanding of electrical drawings, installation methods, and specifications.
• Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record.

Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor estimating staff on electrical utility and industrial projects
• Prepare and review detailed cost estimates, bids, and proposals
• Perform quantity take-offs, pricing analysis, and risk evaluations
• Develop schedules, forecasts, and execution assumptions during preconstruction
• Conduct site visits to assess scope, conditions, and constructability
• Coordinate with project management and operations to align estimates with execution plans
• Solicit, evaluate, and negotiate subcontractor and supplier pricing
• Support client interactions during bidding and pre‑award phases
• Ensure estimates comply with applicable codes, standards, and specifications
