Job Description

Salary: 100-120K

Bogart Constructions is seeking a Lead Estimator responsible for generating and managing estimates for bidding efforts, while providing leadership, training, and mentoring estimators under the Estimating Manager.

Responsibilities / Duties:

• Assist the Estimating Manager in reviewing plans and specifications
• Perform accurate quantity take-offs for all scopes across all trades (div.2-div.16)
• Generate and prepare GMP, scope, estimates, and budgets
• Develop subcontractor relationships
• Provide preliminary estimate pricing, building systems, and constructability assessments
• Support bid day activities: qualifying subcontractor bids and reviewing the overall bid with the Estimating Manager
• Read and interpret all plans and specifications
• Mentor and develop estimators
• Visit project sites to evaluate construction means and methods

Required Skills:

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, Construction, or Architecture
• Proficiency in English, both verbal and written
• Excellent skills in Excel, MS Project, Word, and Outlook
• Minimum 3-5 years of experience in estimating or construction
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret plans, specifications, lease exhibits, landlord requirements, and work letters
• Highly organized, efficient, motivated, ethical, with an entrepreneurial spirit
• Creative and enthusiastic attitude
• Ability to work well under pressure and handle unexpected delays
• Familiarity with software for job costing, tracking reports, scheduling, and estimating
• Ability to coordinate multiple tasks and resolve specific problems
