Are you someone who can look at a set of drawings, specifications or a customer request and quickly understand what it is going to take to actually build and install the sign - and what it should cost? Do you enjoy solving problems, finding better ways to build something, and making sure important details do not get missed?
Our Lead Estimator is both a highly capable estimator and a leader within our Design & Estimating Department. You understand sign construction, materials, fabrication methods, installation requirements and vendor capabilities. You know when more information is needed and when a reasonable assumption can be made. You are analytical and detail-oriented, but you also understand that estimates need to move through the organization quickly so Sales can win profitable work. You take ownership of estimating accuracy, consistency and turnaround time and help other estimators continue developing their knowledge and skills.
As our Lead Estimator, you will turn sign designs, site information, city sign ordinance and/or landlord requirements, customer requirements and specifications into complete, accurate and profitable estimates. You will determine the materials, labor, equipment, outsourced services, permitting, engineering, installation requirements and other costs necessary to successfully complete each project.
You will build and maintain accurate estimates and Bills of Material in ShopVox, obtain and evaluate vendor pricing, identify missing information or potential risks. As the Lead Estimator, you will also help establish estimating standards, review complex or high-value estimates, improve estimating templates and processes, help develop other estimators, and use actual project results to continuously improve future estimating accuracy.
If you know how signs are built, understand what makes an estimate accurate and profitable, and enjoy helping both people and processes get better, we want to meet you.
