Job summary

The McDonnel Group, LLC is seeking an Estimating Manager to lead the estimating team, drive accurate and timely project estimates, and coordinate with preconstruction, operations, and business development to support pursuit strategies and successful handoff.

Responsibilities include directing staff, managing bid processes, and ensuring compliance with company protocols while maintaining strong vendor relationships and bid coverage across all pursuits.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Construction/Project Management, or equivalent required.
• 8–12 years of general construction estimating experience in commercial space or similar.
• Proficient with MS Excel, MS Word, and estimating/earthworks software; On-screen Takeoff and Timberline experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Direct estimating staff on all assignments and ensure accountability with company protocols.
• Provide estimating capacity and input on projects to bid and bid strategy.
• Oversee bid management for all bids including pre-bid meetings, subcontractor communications, takeoffs, and bid delivery.
• Maintain bid schedules, resource allocation, and adherence to estimating forms and templates.
• Coordinate all information required for bid turnover and ensure complete, accurate estimates.
