Job summary

Trueline is seeking a Managing Attorney to lead the estate planning and elder law team across multiple Ohio offices and the Parkersburg, WV location.

The role emphasizes leadership—overseeing attorneys and paralegals, developing people, improving processes, and maintaining high standards of legal work—while maintaining direct client involvement. Travel to all offices is required monthly.

Qualifications

• Juris Doctor degree and active Ohio or West Virginia license.
• Ability to obtain second admission within six months.
• Extensive estate planning and elder law experience, including Medicaid planning, trust administration, probate.

Responsibilities

• Lead, coach, and supervise attorneys, paralegals, and Medicaid/public benefits staff.
• Oversee estate planning, trusts, probate, estate administration, and elder law.
• Review files and work product for accuracy and adherence to firm standards.
• Monitor deadlines and performance measures related to drafting, trust funding, and client service.
• Develop team members through training, feedback, and observation of client meetings.
• Lead selected client consultations and coach attorneys on client engagements.
• Identify workflow improvements and implement consistent processes across offices.
• Partner with leadership on staffing, legal risk, and growth.
• Travel monthly among the firm's four offices.
• Provide occasional support for urgent matters outside regular hours.
