Job summary

Prime Healthcare is seeking a Lead Environmental Services Technician at St. Mary’s Medical Center – Blue Springs, MO. The role oversees EVS staff, ensures patient rooms, ORs, and critical areas meet cleanliness and safety standards, and supports infection prevention efforts.

Evening shifts with a full-time schedule. The Lead EVS Tech coordinates with clinical teams, supervises training, and maintains supplies to sustain a sterile environment per Joint Commission guidelines.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1-year housekeeping experience in hospital setting.
• Familiarity with Joint Commission requirements, preferred.
• Familiarity with chemical sanitizers and general housekeeping functions.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and support EVS staff during shifts by assigning tasks, training new employees, and monitoring work quality.
• Inspect patient rooms, ORs, and high-risk areas for proper sanitation and infection-control compliance.
• Perform cleaning and disinfection tasks in sensitive areas such as isolation rooms and operating rooms.
• Respond to urgent cleaning needs like spills or room turnovers for admissions and discharges.
• Ensure compliance with hospital policies, OSHA standards, and Joint Commission requirements.
• Maintain inventory of cleaning supplies and equipment, reporting needs or malfunctions.
• Communicate with nursing and clinical teams to coordinate cleaning schedules with patient care activities.

The Lead EVS Tech willensure that patient rooms, operating rooms, and other critical areas meet strict cleanliness and safety standards, especially related to infection prevention.
