Job summary

Stantec in Farmington Hills, MI, seeks an experienced Environmental Project Manager to lead complex environmental consulting projects focused on site characterization, remediation, and brownfield revitalization.

You will oversee soil, sediment, groundwater work, vapor intrusion investigations, and related assessments across the Midwest, requiring strong problem solving and independent work style.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Geology, Environmental Science, or Engineering or related field of study.
• Minimum 20 years of experience, predominantly in environmental remediation.
• Project Management Professional (PMP), Professional Engineering (PE) or Professional Geologist (PG) license preferred.
• Prior experience in environmental consulting required.
• 40-hour HAZWOPER training preferred.
• USEPA Brownfields experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform remedial activities at facilities, properties, or sites addressing chemical impacts in air, water, soil, groundwater, or sediment.
• Manage or oversee personnel conducting due diligence, Phase I ESAs, or other environmental projects.
• Conduct intrusive site investigations, Phase II ESAs, and remedial investigations to determine presence and extent of constituents of concern.
• Collect and interpret data; compare findings to regulatory standards to confirm compliance.
• Prepare technical reports and subsurface investigation data analyses.
• Contribute to design and optimization of environmental remediation systems and strategies.
• Maintain stakeholder relationships with clients and regulators and respond to issues promptly.
• Coordinate projects with clients and government agencies as needed.
• Mentor and teach environmental analysts and staff scientists.
