Job summary

ERM in Charleston, WV seeks a Managing Consultant, Environmental Scientist Project Manager to lead environmental permitting and NEPA processes for large-scale capital projects in energy and infrastructure. You will guide clients through regulatory challenges, overseeing ESA consultations and Habitat Conservation Plans while delivering compliant impact assessments.

Qualifications

• 4+ years (8 preferred) of consulting experience in NEPA impact assessment and multi-media permitting (ESA processes, Section 7/10 consultations, HCP development).
• Experience leading complex projects and teams in a fast-paced environment.
• Exceptional technical writing and communication skills.
• Collaborative mindset and commitment to ERM's sustainability vision.
• This position is not eligible for immigration sponsorship.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage environmental permitting and compliance for renewable energy, transmission, and oil & gas projects
• Oversee ESA consultations, develop Habitat Conservation Plans, and prepare mitigation strategies
• Deliver NEPA-compliant impact assessments and management plans, ensuring regulatory alignment
• Provide strategic guidance to clients, identifying opportunities to add business value
• Maintain high standards for health & safety, financial performance, and client satisfaction
