Job summary

ERM is seeking a Managing Technical Consultant to lead environmental permitting and due diligence for major technology infrastructure projects in the Seattle area. You will drive regulatory strategies, coordinate with engineers and legal teams, and manage client relationships in a fast-paced consulting setting.

The role requires a degree in engineering or related field and 4+ years of experience in permitting/due diligence, with strong communication skills.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in engineering, environmental science, biology/ecology, planning, program management, or a related field.
  • 4+ years of relevant experience in environmental permitting and/or due diligence.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including experience preparing technical reports and presenting to clients.
  • Ability to build and maintain client relationships and thrive in a fast-paced consulting environment.
  • This position is not eligible for immigration sponsorship.

Responsibilities

  • Lead environmental risk evaluations, permitting, and approvals for technology infrastructure and major capital projects.
  • Identify permitting requirements during site acquisition and due diligence processes.
  • Manage regulatory agency interactions and develop mitigation strategies for environmental risks.
  • Collaborate with architecture and engineering partners on conceptual master planning.
  • Communicate environmental requirements to diverse stakeholders, including legal, real estate, design, and sustainability teams.
  • Oversee preparation of reports, permitting documents, and environmental reviews at federal and state levels.
  • Serve as project manager, technical expert, and QA/QC reviewer to ensure quality and compliance.
  • Drive business development through proposal preparation and client relationship management.
  • Monitor project performance, budgets, schedules, and health & safety protocols.
