Job summary

ERM seeks a Managing Consultant, Civil and Environmental Engineer to lead civil and remediation design in the Pacific Northwest from Seattle, WA or Portland, OR. You will guide design packages, coordinate cross-disciplinary teams, and manage projects while advancing client relationships and business opportunities.

The role requires a PE or eligibility within one year, extensive experience in CERCLA/MTCA frameworks, and strong leadership, communication, and mentoring capabilities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in civil engineering or environmental engineering or closely related discipline.
• 4+ years of progressively responsible site remediation and civil design experience.
• Experience leading remedial design from investigation through implementation with cost opinions.
• Experience coordinating with environmental, geotechnical, construction, and drafting teams.
• Experience with CERCLA, MTCA or similar regulatory frameworks.
• Familiarity with digital design tools and data-driven design approaches; ability to guide, not draft all work.
• Strong project management, communication, and mentoring skills.
• Willingness to travel to client sites; valid driver's license required.
• This role is not eligible for immigration sponsorship.
• Preferred: Professional Engineer (PE) license or ability to obtain within one year.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and review design deliverables, including reports, drawings, specs, and cost opinions.
• Manage civil and remedial design tasks with scope, budget, and schedule oversight.
• Provide team leadership, staff development, and performance management.
• Support business development through proposals and client relations.
• Share knowledge across ERM's global network and drive technical innovation.
