Job summary

Pima County in the Regional Wastewater Reclamation Department is seeking a Permit Regulatory Compliance Specialist to lead inspections of commercial/industrial facilities and collect samples to ensure compliance with the National Pretreatment Program. This is a senior role within the Industrial Wastewater Control Team.

The position involves drafting permits, enforcing compliance, and preparing reports for state agencies and the County Board.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in environmental science/technology, hydrology, engineering or related field.
• Two years of experience as an Industrial Wastewater Inspector or Utility Maintenance Worker II OR three years as a Wastewater Operations & Maintenance Technician.
• Education/experience documented in application; resume not accepted in place of application.

Responsibilities

• Drafts industrial user wastewater discharge permits and reviews permit conditions.
• Monitors permit conditions by reviewing self-monitoring reports and test results.
• Maintains records and laboratory certifications for wastewater activities.
