Job summary

The State of Connecticut’s Department of Energy and Environmental Protection seeks an Environmental Analyst 2 within the Concierge Team to support environmental permitting processes and strategic planning. The role emphasizes coordinating complex projects, analyzing environmental data, and facilitating stakeholder engagement across multiple branches.

The position is full-time, hybrid, with responsibilities spanning permit assistance, data reporting, and process improvements to enhance regulatory

Qualifications

  • Six (6) years of experience involving technical analysis and interpretation of environmental program data or planning and implementing environmental programs.
  • College training in a scientific/technical discipline may substitute for up to four years of experience.
  • A Master’s degree may substitute for five years of General Experience.
  • Special requirements include travel and valid driver’s license.
  • Experience coordinating projects with two or more permitting requirements and involving internal and external stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in development of departmental or statewide environmental plans and programs.
  • Research, collect and analyze resources, data and educational materials.
  • Review proposed projects for consistency with policies and assess environmental impact.
  • Coordinate database maintenance and disseminate information.
  • Assist in drafting regulations, guidelines, and other written materials.
  • Provide technical consultation to local, regional, state, and federal officials.
