Job description

More than a career – a chance to make a difference in people's lives. Build an exciting, rewarding career with us – help us make a difference for millions of people every day. Consider joining the Duke Energy team, where you'll find a friendly work environment, opportunities for growth and development, recognition for your work, and competitive pay and benefits. Build the leaders who power our future. At Duke Energy, our leaders play a critical role in shaping the employee experience, serving our customers, and delivering on our business priorities.

We are looking for an experienced leadership facilitator and program manager to help bring our enterprise leadership development strategy to life. In this role, you will design, facilitate, and operationalize high‑impact leadership learning experiences for leaders across the enterprise. You will lead engaging sessions, manage complex program delivery, partner with key stakeholders, and ensure each experience is relevant, polished, and aligned to business priorities. This is an ideal opportunity for someone who brings executive presence, deep leadership facilitation expertise, and the ability to move seamlessly between cohort‑based learning, senior leader engagements, and large‑scale live programming.

What You’ll Do

Facilitate enterprise-wide leadership development offerings through in-person, virtual, hybrid, cohort-based, and large-group live experiences. Serve as a trusted facilitator and content expert for leadership topics such as self‑awareness, emotional intelligence, coaching and feedback, courageous conversations, leading through change, strategy execution, accountability, and enterprise leadership expectations. Use strong facilitation judgment to read the room, adapt in the moment, guide discussion, manage group dynamics, and deepen learning. Plan and execute large-scale live leadership programming, including multi‑day cohort experiences, speaker segments, panels, networking experiences, action planning, and participant follow‑up. Lead leadership engagements across multiple formats and audience sizes, including senior leader sessions, small cohorts, 1:1 development conversations, larger audiences, and conference‑style live programming. Manage end-to-end program operations, including timelines, cohort schedules, participant communications, prework, materials, room setup, technology, speaker preparation, vendor coordination, survey administration, and post‑program follow‑up. Partner with senior leaders, HR Business Partners, Talent partners, vendors, subject matter experts, and internal stakeholders to align leadership programs with enterprise priorities. Translate stakeholder input and business needs into clear program architecture, session flow, facilitation plans, participant materials, and executive‑ready updates. Prepare guest speakers, executive panelists, adjunct facilitators, and vendor partners to deliver intentional, relevant, and seamless sessions. Use adult learning principles, experiential learning methods, facilitated discussion, reflection, peer learning, case scenarios, and application‑based activities to drive leadership behavior change. Evaluate program effectiveness using learner feedback, participation data, stakeholder input, and program outcomes; identify trends and recommend improvements to content, delivery, operations, and scale. Build facilitation capability across internal and external facilitators through train‑the‑trainer sessions, coaching, calibration, and feedback. Stay current on leadership development trends, facilitation best practices, virtual engagement tools, and scalable program delivery models.

  • Five (5) plus years of related work experience
What We’re Looking For

  • Seven (7) or more years of experience facilitating leadership development programs, with demonstrated depth in mid-level leadership or leaders-of-leaders audiences.
  • Strong executive presence and credibility with senior leaders, business leaders, HR partners, vendors, and participants across the organization.
  • Experience designing, facilitating, and managing cohort-based leadership programs in a large, complex corporate environment.
  • Strong interpersonal communication, listening, presentation, facilitation, consulting, influencing, problem‑solving, project management, and analytical skills.
  • Ability to synthesize ambiguous inputs into clear themes, recommendations, and executive‑ready outputs.
  • Experience using feedback, survey results, participation data, and stakeholder insights to evaluate effectiveness and improve programs.
  • Experience with virtual facilitation platforms and collaboration tools such as Microsoft Teams, Webex, PowerPoint, Excel, Word, and other learning technologies.
  • Experience with Learning Management Systems.
