Job summary

Assured Information Security (AIS) seeks a Principal Cyber Systems Architect to drive enterprise-level engineering strategy, modernize mission platforms, and oversee development teams. This onsite role in Columbia, MD requires a TS/SCI w/CI Poly and offers hands-on leadership in secure system design.

You will collaborate with Product Lead to align product roadmap with mission priorities, translating requirements into actionable engineering plans and risk-aware execution.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in CS/IS/Network Engineering or related field with 8+ years cyber software experience.
• Minimum of 3 years leading technical initiatives or as a Technical Lead.
• Proficient in C, C++, Go, Java or Python.
• Experience with Git/GitLab and automated CI/CD pipelines for secure environments.
• Proficiency with Docker and IaC tools (Ansible, Vagrant).
• Hands-on with virtualization (vSphere/ESXi) and automated validation environments.
• Strong OS knowledge (Linux/Windows) and network analysis.

Responsibilities

• Establish and maintain enterprise-wide engineering standards, secure coding practices, and automated validation across teams.
• Direct CI/CD pipeline adoption and secure engineering workflows to reduce technical debt.
• Architect and evolve mission systems for scalability, resilience, and modernization.
• Lead development of analysis engines, verification tools, and modern deployment environments.
• Mentor engineers via design reviews, code assessments, and technical development initiatives.
