The College on the Macon Campus seeks an experienced English instructor to lead the delivery of assigned courses and develop syllabi that align with course objectives. You will engage students using technology and varied methods to support learning outcomes.

Applicants should hold a Master’s degree in English (or related field) with 18 graduate hours in English and have at least two years of community college teaching experience.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in English or related discipline with 18 graduate hours in English.
• Minimum two years of teaching experience.
• Preferred: Master’s degree in English with 18 graduate hours in another humanities discipline and two years of CC teaching experience.

Responsibilities

• Teach a course load consistent with college workload policy.
• Plan and organize instruction to maximize documented student learning.
• Employ teaching strategies to communicate subject matter to students.
• Stay current in the subject through professional development and meetings.
• Learn and use technology to enhance teaching and the educational experience.
• Modify instructional methods to meet diverse student needs.
• Develop, update, and share course syllabi in a timely manner.
• Establish meaningful student learning outcomes for courses.
• Develop and implement methods to measure student progress toward outcomes.
• Analyze data with colleagues to improve student learning.
• Maintain accurate records and submit grades on time.
• Demonstrate sensitivity to student needs.
• Teach classes as assigned.
• Post and maintain regular office hours for accessibility.
• Maintain confidentiality of student information.
