Job summary

College of Mainland invites applications for a Faculty - English position. The incumbent will provide instruction, develop curriculum, and maintain office hours for student consultation within the English department.

The role requires a Master’s in English (or related field with 18 graduate hours in English) and experience teaching at the postsecondary level, including potential dual‑credit and online delivery.

Qualifications

Master’s degree in English or closely related field; or master’s in any field with at least 18 graduate hours in English.
Experience teaching at the postsecondary level.
Experience teaching at a community college and working with diverse student populations.
Experience or interest in teaching dual‑credit students.
Experience, interest, or professional development in teaching corequisite‑education models or developmental English.
Experience with online teaching in different platforms and strong experience with technology.
Graduate coursework in philosophy.

Responsibilities

Prepare, develop, revise curriculum and course work.
Meet classes as scheduled.
Complete grading of course assignments and tests and issue student grades as scheduled.
Post and maintain office hours for student consultation.
Serve on committees as appropriate.
Participate in student recruitment.
Complete and submit educational assessments as scheduled.
