Job summary

Atticus is hiring a Senior Engineering Manager to own a product pod and report to the VP of Engineering. You will be accountable for your team's health, delivery, and roadmap, balancing technical leadership with people management.

Your pod sits as a small cross-functional unit (4–6 engineers, a PM, and a designer) focused on a shared mission, with you coaching performance, shaping culture, and staying close to code, architecture, and quality while shipping impact for clients.

Qualifications

• Managed a team of engineers for 3+ years.
• Developed engineers including senior ICs; conducted hard performance conversations.
• Worked in a high-performing product org with PMs and designers; engineers own product outcomes.
• Operated with ambiguity and limited resources in startups or large companies.
• Used AI coding tools seriously in the past year with a view on their benefits.
• Hands-on. Writes code, reviews it, and participates in system design.

Responsibilities

• Own the pod’s roadmap and deliverables.
• Coach and develop engineers’ careers.
• Review PRs and contribute to architecture and code quality.
• Collaborate with PMs and designers to ship outcomes.
• Scale tools for attorneys and clients as part of the product.
