Job summary

LightTable is seeking an Engineering Manager to lead one of two engineering pods in a player-coach role. You will own people, priorities, and technical decisions within your feature area, and stay technical to ensure quality.

Engineering is ~10 today, growing to 15–20 in a year, with a modern React/Python stack and AI coding tools. Based in the Denver metro area, you will report to the CTO alongside another pod lead and work in a hybrid model.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of professional coding experience, with 3+ years leading a software team.
• Hands-on player-coach who stays close to code and architecture.
• Senior staff-level technical depth with platform-level impact.
• Experience with AI coding tools and modern web stacks.

Responsibilities

• Lead a pod of AI and web engineers day to day: priorities, cadence, unblocking, and shipping.
• Own technical decisions inside your feature area, including reviews and tradeoffs.
• Manage performance, provide strong feedback, and grow engineers.
• Hire, interview, and scale the team as it doubles in the coming year.
• Collaborate with design partners, customers, and CTO to align architecture across pods.
