Collins Aerospace seeks a Lead Engineering Lab Assistant in Cedar Rapids to perform hands-on technical build work with minimal supervision. You will support engineers, inspect circuits, repair components, and assemble cables, while adhering to quality processes and safety standards.

The ideal candidate will have an AA/AS degree with 10+ years of relevant experience and be proficient in reading prints/schematics and soldering (lead and lead-free).

Qualifications

• Typically requires an AA/AS degree (or other 2-year post high school training) with a minimum of 10 years of relevant experience. Certification may be required for technical support roles
• Experience with reading prints, drawings, and schematics

Responsibilities

• Provides technical build support to engineers and technicians under minimal supervision.
• Performs moderately complex hands-on technical tasks contributing to project completion.
• Works on circuit boards including repairs, component insertion, replacement, and inspection.
• Solders using lead and lead-free techniques.
• Builds cables and terminations for various circuitry types.
• Understands and follows quality processes and inspection.
• Reads prints, drawings, and schematics to assist build.
• Uses hand tools, scopes, soldering stations with precision.
• Demonstrates strong communication, attitude, leadership and professionalism.
