Job summary

Pickett, an ESP Associates company, seeks a Lead Engineer to provide leadership and senior-level engineering expertise on complex HV and EHV overhead transmission projects. You will guide line routing, modeling, and design, ensuring client satisfaction, quality, and on-time delivery.

The role requires PE certification and 10+ years of transmission-line experience, with extensive PLS-CADD usage and collaboration across substation, environmental, and construction teams.

Qualifications

  • Professional Engineer (PE) certification required.
  • 10+ years of related transmission line engineering experience in the electric utility industry.
  • Extensive experience using PLS-CADD.
  • Experience with PLS-TOWER (preferred).
  • Extensive experience with design codes and standards such as NESC, IEEE, ASCE and ACI.
  • Extensive experience liaising with substation, environmental, real estate, construction, and maintenance stakeholders.
  • Deep understanding of industry standards and methods (engineering, procurement, and construction).
  • Strong project management skills and experience.
  • Ability to work in a safe manner and always obeys safety regulations.
  • Adept self-starter who thrives in an unstructured, varied and deadline-driven work environment.
  • Strong leadership skills and ability to coach other team members and provide direction for projects.
  • Strong ability to collaborate with team members as well as peers in the electrical utility industry.
  • Effective business and technical communication skills (verbal, written and presentation).
  • Candidate must pass a drug screen, background check, and have a satisfactory driving record in accordance with the company’s driving (MVR) policy.

AbouttheRole:

As a Lead Engineer, you will provide leadership and senior-level engineering/technicalexpertiseoncomplexelectrictransmissiondesignprojectsforhigh-voltage(HV)andextrahigh-voltage(EHV)overheadutilitysystems.

Some of the main responsibilities will be to ensure the team is meeting client requirements;both quality and schedule deadlines as well as ensuring the team is engaged and their inputis valued. We want to inspire our team members to produce at the level of excellence forwhichPickett isknown.

This role will require you to be hands-on and manage, prepare, review and/or provideguidance for line routing, survey coordination, PLS-CADD modeling, structure design,foundation design, clearance checks, plan/profile development, material specification andprocurement, constructability evaluations, work order package preparation, permitting,vendor/subcontractorcoordination and construction support.
