Job summary

Pickett, an ESP Associates company, seeks a Lead Engineer to provide leadership and senior-level engineering expertise on complex HV and EHV overhead transmission projects. This hybrid role requires hands-on management of line routing, design reviews, and client coordination to meet quality and schedule goals.

You will mentor engineers and technicians, develop proposals, and foster lasting client relationships while upholding our SOLVE values and safety standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering is required.
• PE certification is required.
• 10+ years of related transmission line engineering experience in the electric utility industry is required.
• Extensive experience using PLS-CADD is required.
• Experience with PLS-TOWER is preferred.
• Extensive experience with design codes and standards such as: NESC, IEEE, ASCE, and ACI.
• Extensive experience liaising with substation, environmental, real estate, construction, and maintenance stakeholders.
• Strong project management skills and experience.

AbouttheRole:

As a Lead Engineer, you will provide leadership and senior-level engineering/technicalexpertiseoncomplexelectrictransmissiondesignprojectsforhigh-voltage(HV)andextrahigh-voltage(EHV)overheadutilitysystems.

Some of the main responsibilities will be to ensure the team is meeting client requirements,both quality and schedule deadlines as well as ensuring the team is engaged and their inputis valued. We want to inspire our team members to produce at the level of excellence forwhichPickett isknown.

This role will require you to be hands-on and manage, prepare, review, and/or provideguidance for line routing, survey coordination, PLS-CADD modeling, structure design,foundation design, clearance checks, plan/profile development, material specification andprocurement, constructability evaluations, work order package preparation, permitting,vendor/subcontractorcoordination, and construction support.

• Strong leadership skills and ability to coach other team members and providedirectionforprojects
• Strong ability to collaborate with team members as well as peers in theelectricalutilityindustry
• Effective business and technical communication skills (verbal, written, and presentation)
• Candidate must be able to pass a drug screen, background check, and have a satisfactory driving record in accordance with the company’s driving (MVR) policy
