Pickett, an ESP Associates company, is hiring a Senior Engineer in Pensacola, FL for high‑voltage transmission projects. You will provide senior technical leadership on line routing, PLS-CADD modeling, structure and foundation design, and permit coordination.

The role requires a Bachelor's in Engineering, PE certification, and 8+ years of transmission line experience, with proficiency in PLS-CADD and applicable codes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's in Engineering is required.
• Professional Engineer (PE) certification required.
• 8+ years of transmission line engineering experience in the electric utility industry.
• Experience using PLS-CADD for designing transmission lines.
• Strong knowledge of design codes such as NESC, IEEE, ASCE, and ACI.
• Ability to liaise with substation, environmental, ROW construction and maintenance stakeholders.
• Demonstrated ability to apply engineering theories and present recommendations.

About The Role:

As a Senior Engineer, you will provide senior level engineering/technical expertise on complex electric transmission design projects for high-voltage (HV) and extra high-voltage (EHV) overhead utility systems.

Specifically, the position manages, prepares, reviews and/or provides guidance for line routing, survey coordination, PLS-CADD modeling, structure design, foundation design, clearance checks, plan/profile development, material specification and procurement, constructability evaluations, work order package preparation, permitting, vendor/subcontractor coordination and construction support.

What You Bring:

• Demonstrated ability in the application of engineering theories and principles
• Increasingly proficient in practices of researching engineering and design issues, evaluating alternatives, preparing, and presenting recommendations
• Ability to work in a safe manner and always obey safety regulations
• Ability to be a self-starter and thrive in an unstructured, varied and deadline driven work environment
• Strong ability to collaborate with team members as well as peers in the electrical utility industry
• Effective communication skills (verbal, written and presentation)
• Demonstrated verbal and technical writing skills
• Candidate must be able to pass a drug screen, background check, and have a satisfactory driving record in accordance with the company’s driving (MVR) policy
