Job summary

CornerStone Professional Placement is seeking an experienced Assistant Chief Engineer for a large Dallas property. The role leads both tower engineering and plant operations, ensuring safe, reliable and efficient building systems with 24/7 plant support.

The ideal candidate combines strong mechanical expertise with proven leadership ability and comfortable directing technical strategy and day-to-day operations for a complex facility.

Qualifications

• Strong mechanical background with experience supporting complex building or plant systems.
• Experience with thermal storage plants/systems.
• Previous engineering leadership or supervisory experience; strong understanding of commercial building engineering/central plant operations.
• Ability to troubleshoot mechanical issues and provide technical direction.
• Strong leadership, communication and organizational skills.
• Hands-on leadership style balancing people management and operational responsibilities.
• Experience in large commercial facilities such as high-rise, hospital, hotel, data center or similar complex environment.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership and oversight across tower engineering and plant operations.
• Partner closely with Engineering Leads responsible for the tower and plant.
• Provide technical leadership and troubleshooting support for complex mechanical and building systems.
• Support the operation and maintenance of thermal storage plant systems.
• Help oversee preventative maintenance, work orders and overall operational priorities.
• Ensure building and plant systems operate safely, reliably and efficiently.
• Coach, develop and support engineering team members while maintaining accountability and performance standards.
• Coordinate priorities and communication between tower and plant operations.
• Work effectively with vendors, tenants and internal stakeholders.
• Remain involved in day-to-day operations while providing leadership and technical guidance.
