Job summary

Duke Energy Corporation is seeking a Lead Engineer to guide the development of production standards for transmission substation protection. The role emphasizes relay settings, protection philosophy, and standard documentation, with leadership responsibilities across P&C Settings and Design teams.

This position requires extensive experience in protection systems, coordination studies, and compliance with NERC standards, working primarily in the DEC headquarters in Charlotte, NC.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from an ABET accredited program and PE
  • Eight years of related engineering work experience
  • Registration as a Professional Engineer required.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the development of production standards for transmission substation protection applications.
  • Provide technical leadership for standardizing protection schemes and settings documentation.
  • Coordinate study expectations and relay logic development for substation assets.
  • Ensure all work complies with Duke Energy Safety Manual and relevant laws.
  • Communicate effectively and mentor team members and contractors.
