Job summary

Duke Energy in Charlotte, NC is seeking a Lead Engineer in the Production Standards group to guide the development of protective relay standards and settings for transmission substations. Qualifications

  • ABET-accredited electrical engineering degree required.
  • PE license required or in-progress.
  • Eight or more years of relevant experience in protection systems.

Responsibilities

  • Lead development of production standards for transmission substation protection.
  • Provide technical leadership for standardizing protection schemes and relay settings.
  • Develop planning tools: settings templates, calculation guidance, and drawing interfaces.
  • Ensure work aligns with safety manual, federal/state/local laws, and utility practices.
  • Assist other engineering teams and relay protection teams as needed.
