Job summary

Parsley Health seeks a Lead Engineer to lead a small, high-leverage engineering team while remaining deeply hands-on in code. This player-coach role balances code design/shipping 60–70% with managing one full-time engineer and coordinating contractors.

You’ll partner with Product, Clinical, Design, Data, and Security to translate priorities into reliable software. Remote by default, preference for East/ Central time zones, NYC area opportunities.

Qualifications

• Strong full-stack experience across backend services and modern frontend apps.
• Experience as a tech lead or mentored engineers and led projects end-to-end.
• Backend experience in Go or Kotlin, with preference for both.

Responsibilities

• Lead a lean engineering team and coordinate 1-2 engineers plus contractors.
• Own architecture decisions and set quality via code/design reviews.
• Design and ship backend and full-stack features, tools, and infra.
• Partner with Product and Clinical to translate needs into technical plans.
• Support AI-enabled engineering practices with strong security and risk controls.
• Maintain healthy foundations: deploy hygiene, observability, reliability.
