Qualifications

• Knowledge of regulatory frameworks and grid integration is preferred.

• Analyze size, performance, efficiency, cost, and requirements for DER, power distribution, EV charging, and data center applications.
• Develop and maintain documentation on specifications and simulations.
• Collaborate with systems simulation and engineering teams to align targets.
• Lead evaluation and benchmarking of new technologies.
• Work with controls software engineers on energy management system targets.
• Collaborate on power electronics design, thermal management, and packaging/manufacturing.
• Coordinate with Verification & Validation on DVP&Rs for battery energy storage testing.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

Faith Technologies Inc. (FTI) is currently seeking a Lead Engineer, R&D Power Electronics to join our Product Engineering team in Menasha, WI.

As a Lead Engineer within our R&D organization, you will lead the design, development, and testing of cutting‑edge systems and technologies for distributed energy resources (DER) and power distribution applications. You will shape technological roadmaps, characterize and benchmark technologies and components, and collaborate with cross‑functional teams to develop solutions for various markets.

Minimum Requirements

• Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, Aerospace, Chemical). Advanced degree preferred.
• 8+ years of experience in system design, architecture, testing, or integration of energy technologies for microgrid, power generation, and energy storage.
• Strong understanding of renewable energy systems (solar, wind, power conversion, energy storage), system modeling, and fast‑paced problem solving.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Knowledge of regulatory frameworks, industry standards, grid integration, and energy management systems (preferred).
• Proven track record of leading successful projects in the renewable energy sector (preferred).
• Experience with performance modeling and simulation (Matlab/Simulink, Simscape, Amesim etc.) (preferred).

Key Responsibilities

• Characterize, benchmark, and define requirements for design, development and testing of prototypes and components.
• Analyze size, performance, efficiency, cost, and requirements of technologies for DER, power distribution, EV charging, and data center applications.
• Develop and maintain documentation on component specifications, selection analysis, requirements, and simulation analysis.
• Collaborate with systems simulation and FEA/CFD engineers to communicate requirements, performance targets, and boundary conditions.
• Lead evaluation and benchmarking of new and competitive technologies.
• Work with controls software engineers to establish guidelines and performance targets for energy management systems and microgrid controllers.
• Collaborate across teams on power electronics system design, thermal management, and packaging/manufacturing design.
• Collaborate with Verification & Validation team to define DVP&Rs for battery energy storage system testing.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
