Job summary

Wynn Las Vegas is seeking a Lead Engineer to supervise daily engineering staff on the resort campus, ensuring timely completion of maintenance tasks and liaison with other departments for facility issues.

You will respond to emergencies, direct resources, and communicate with property executives. Responsibilities include enforcing policies and supporting trades, with daily shift and log reporting to senior management.

Qualifications

• Minimum four years journeyman experience in building trades on a large casino/resort property.
• Able to read project drawings and understand building codes/regulations.
• Fluent in English; basic computer skills; Nevada driver’s license required.

Responsibilities

• Supervise daily staff activities and assignments to ensure timely, satisfactory completion.
• Respond immediately to facility emergencies and coordinate with engineering staff and management.
• Enforce company policies; provide direction and discipline when appropriate; assist trades as needed.
• Handle miscellaneous duties as assigned by senior management.
• Provide daily verbal and written shift/log reports to senior management.

Job Description

• The Lead Engineer will retain their current workshop assignment with routine work assignments except when covering Senior Watch duties as scheduled by senior management. Will be responsible for supervising daily staff activities and work assignments to ensure timely and satisfactory completion of work assignments and will liaise with other departments to resolve miscellaneous facility issues.
• Will respond immediately to all facility emergencies and will provide direction and resources to engineering staff for timely resolution. Will provide communication with other departments and property executives as required during and after such events.
• Will enforce all company and department policies with maintenance staff members including issuing discipline, and commendations when appropriate. Will provide assistance to all trades and crafts with routine work assignments as needed.
• Responsible for other miscellaneous duties that may be assigned by senior management.
• Will provide daily verbal and written shift & log reports to senior management.

Qualifications

• Must have a minimum of (4) four years commercial or industrial Journeyman experience in building trades and crafts working a large casino/resort property with a detailed knowledgeable of all building systems. Will be able to read, understand and work from project drawings, understand building codes and regulations. Must be proficient in the safe use of all trade related hand and power tools, safety and personal protective equipment.
• Must be able to work with little supervision and provide sound direction in stressful and emergency situations and will effectively communicate with senior management, department managers and line staff.
• Must be detail oriented and have good leadership, customer and employee relationship skills.
• Must be willing to adjust work schedule as required to meet business needs.
• Must have a high school diploma or equivalent and be fluent in the English language and have basic computer skills.
• A valid Nevada Driver's License is required for this position. Must be 21 years of age or older.
• Possession of an OSHA 30 is a plus and will be required not later than 60 days after position entry.
