Job summary

Wynn Resorts in Las Vegas seeks a Lead Engineer to supervise daily maintenance staff on a large casino property. You will cover Senior Watch duties as scheduled, coordinate with departments, and ensure timely completion of work while upholding safety and policy standards.

Responsibilities include responding to emergencies, directing engineers, and producing daily shift reports for senior management; strong leadership and communication are essential.

Qualifications

• Minimum of four years journeyman experience in commercial/industrial trades on a large casino/resort.
• Ability to read and work from project drawings and understand building codes/regulations.
• Fluency in English and basic computer skills; ability to supervise and communicate with management.

Responsibilities

• Cover Senior Watch duties as scheduled and liaise with other departments to resolve issues.
• Respond immediately to facility emergencies and direct engineering staff to resolve them.
• Enforce policies and provide discipline or commendations as needed; assist trades as required.
• Provide daily verbal and written shift and log reports to senior management.

Job description

• The Lead Engineer will retain their current workshop assignment with routine work assignments except when covering Senior Watch duties as scheduled by senior management. Will be responsible for supervising daily staff activities and work assignments to ensure timely and satisfactory completion of work assignments and will liaise with other departments to resolve miscellaneous facility issues.
• Will respond immediately to all facility emergencies and will provide direction and resources to engineering staff for timely resolution. Will provide communication with other departments and property executives as required during and after such events.
• Will enforce all company and department policies with maintenance staff members including issuing discipline, and commendations when appropriate. Will provide assistance to all trades and crafts with routine work assignments as needed.
• Responsible for other miscellaneous duties that may be assigned by senior management.
• Will provide daily verbal and written shift & log reports to senior management.

Qualifications

• Must have a minimum of (4) four years commercial or industrial Journeyman experience in building trades and crafts working a large casino/resort property with a detailed knowledgeable of all building systems. Will be able to read, understand and work from project drawings, understand building codes and regulations. Must be proficient in the safe use of all trade related hand and power tools, safety and personal protective equipment.
• Must be able to work with little supervision and provide sound direction in stressful and emergency situations and will effectively communicate with senior management, department managers and line staff.
• Must be detail oriented and have good leadership, customer and employee relationship skills.
• Must be willing to adjust work schedule as required to meet business needs.
• Must have a high school diploma or equivalent and be fluent in the English language and have basic computer skills.
• A valid Nevada Driver's License is required for this position. Must be 21 years of age or older.
• Possession of an OSHA 30 is a plus and will be required not later than 60 days after position entry.
