Job summary

Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development (DOTD) seeks a Systems Movable Bridge Maintenance Expert (Engineer 6 DCL) to lead electrical and mechanical design for statewide movable bridge, tunnel, and pump station systems. This senior role requires PE licensure and strong design/maintenance experience with complex systems.

You will co-manage major repair budgets, provide construction support, review consultant contracts, and perform emergency/ disaster duties as needed.

Qualifications

• Current Louisiana Professional Engineer license.
• Two years of licensed engineering experience or six years of professional engineering experience.

Responsibilities

• Lead design and repair planning for statewide movable bridges, tunnels, and pump stations.
• Provide field support during construction and address design changes with contractors.
• Assist in consultant contracts and review, including scope, time, and criteria.
• Perform other duties including emergency/disaster support as needed.
