Job summary
State of Louisiana DOTD seeks an Engineer 3, 4, or 5 to support bridge and structural design, bridge preservation, load rating, plan development, and technical support for transportation infrastructure projects. This position involves coordination with project managers, consultants, districts, and construction staff statewide.
Training is provided with opportunities for career progression through the Engineering job series; positions are statewide and report to Engineer 7/Bridge Inspection
Qualifications
- Possession of a current Louisiana license to practice professional engineering.
- Engineer Intern Certificate allowed but must obtain full licensure prior to appointment.
- Training provided with opportunities for career progression within the Engineering job series.
Responsibilities
- Assist with bridge and structural design activities for transportation projects.
- Review or prepare plans, calculations, specifications, estimates, and structural details.
- Perform or assist with bridge load ratings, evaluations, or preservation activities.
- Provide technical support related to rehabilitation, replacement, preservation, or new capacity projects.
- Coordinate with project managers, consultants, districts, construction staff, and external partners.
