Job summary

Longitude Rx is seeking a hands-on, technically exceptional Lead Engineer to serve as the senior technical leader. You will own architecture, cloud infrastructure, and engineering standards across the Longitude CGT platform, leading both in-house and partner teams through secure, scalable delivery.

The ideal candidate has 8+ years in software engineering with 2+ years in leadership, plus experience in healthcare or regulated environments, HIPAA security, and healthcare interoperability.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of software engineering experience, including 2+ years leading engineers.
• Experience delivering secure, cloud-based SaaS products in healthcare or a regulated industry.
• Experience with healthcare interoperability and EHR integration.
• Working knowledge of HIPAA and security frameworks such as SOC 2.
• Experience shipping AI or ML features is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Own technical architecture, cloud infrastructure, and engineering standards across the Longitude CGT platform.
• Take complex product areas from ambiguity to secure, reliable, shipped software.
• Lead engineering delivery across in-house teams and third-party technology partners.
• Own security and compliance readiness, including HIPAA and SOC 2, in partnership with security leadership.
• Lead integration and interoperability strategy, including EHR integration with health system partners.
• Identify and drive opportunities to apply AI to both the product and the engineering workflow.
• Hire, develop, and lead the engineering team, raising the bar for speed and quality.
• Partner cross-functionally with Product, Implementation, and customer IT teams to support successful delivery and adoption.

Position Summary

We are seeking a hands-on, technically exceptional Lead Engineer to serve as the senior technical leader at Longitude CGT. This role owns engineering from architecture through delivery, builds and leads the engineering team, and sets the quality and security bar for products used by health systems.

This is a builder's role first and a leadership role second. The ideal candidate is comfortable reviewing code, leading design discussions, and managing third-party technology partners while building the cloud infrastructure, security, and compliance foundation the company will scale on. This individual thrives in ambiguity and brings a clear point of view on how AI can improve both the product and the way engineering work gets done.

Minimum Qualifications

Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field preferred.

Experience

• 8+ years of software engineering experience, including 2+ years leading engineers or engineering partners.
• Proven track record of taking a product from early stage to scale.
• Experience building secure, cloud-based SaaS products in healthcare or another regulated industry.
• Experience with healthcare interoperability and EHR integration.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

• Deep technical expertise, with the ability to review code, lead design discussions, and unblock the team.
• Working knowledge of HIPAA and security frameworks such as SOC 2.
• Strong hiring, mentoring, and team-building skills.
• Clear communicator with technical and non-technical audiences.
• Comfortable working in an ambiguous, fast-moving startup environment.
• Epic integration experience preferred.
• Experience building or shipping AI or machine learning features preferred.
• Early-stage or founding-team experience at a health tech company preferred.

Equivalent combination of education and experience in lieu of degree or years of experience may be considered, provided the candidate can demonstrate the knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the role.
