Job summary

Job description

• Serve as the go-to technical expert for turbine assets
• Lead major outage projects
• Manage contractors and subcontractors
• Develop and support predictive maintenance programs
• Drive long-term equipment reliability initiatives
• Identify problems, solutions, and safety improvements for equipment operation and maintenance
• Solve highly technical and complex problems using engineering principles, theories, concepts, technical experience, and business knowledge
• Develop technically sound and cost-effective recommendations
• Anticipate customer needs, present alternatives, and influence customer decision-making
• Make higher-risk technical decisions affecting multiple business areas with customer sign-off
• Coordinate and lead cross-functional teams addressing complex technical or operational problems
• Provide leadership, coaching, direction, guidance, and advice to others
• Build effective working relationships with employees, contractors, customers, functional groups, and internal and external peers
• Develop operational guidelines, standards, training, and strategic plans to sustain improvements
• Manage project budgets, accruals, and anticipated budget changes
• Analyze corporate financial statements and project impacts on rate payers and shareholders
• Understand income statement and balance sheet pro forma analyses and technical inputs' implications
• Support generation facility outages

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in an engineering program accredited through the Engineering Accreditation Commission (required)
• 9 years of related experience
• Project management leadership experience preferred
• Ability to deal with subcontractors and cross-functional teams
• Expertise in a particular area of the discipline
• Effective interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
• Ability to communicate clearly and concisely with all organizational levels and external stakeholders
• Ability to use computer software programs, including email, word processing, spreadsheets, and project management software
• Ability to work effectively in a collaborative and inclusive work environment
• Successful completion of a background check
• Successful completion of a drug screen where applicable
