Job summary

Solana Foundation seeks a Lead Engineer for Frontier Traders who will own data pipelines, attribution, and trader-facing interfaces from ingestion to live features. You will drive architecture decisions, ensure accuracy under load, and collaborate with traders, firms, and external partners.

You are expected to build scalable solutions, ship real-time experiences, and set high engineering standards while shaping the product roadmap with design and Growth teams.

Qualifications

• Build and ship end-to-end products with clear ownership.
• Strong fundamentals across the stack and good judgment on hard problems.
• Proficiency in Rust or other performant languages.
• Experience with high-volume data pipelines where latency matters.
• Experience building financial/transactional products with real consequences.
• Working knowledge of Solana assets, accounts, and transactions.
• Familiarity with DeFi market structure including spot and perpetuals venues, AMMs and order books.
• Strong product instincts and willingness to discuss UX decisions.
• Comfort operating with ambiguity and evolving priorities.
• Excellent communication with external users and stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Own the technical direction and delivery of Frontier Traders end to end.
• Build and scale pipelines attributing volume across all Solana venues.
• Design and operate the rewards engine for campaigns, points, leaderboards, and rebates.
• Maintain the VIP tier system with window calculations and rebates.
• Ship real-time experiences like live activity feeds and leaderboards.
• Manage integrations with ecosystem partners and ensure durability as venues evolve.
• Collaborate with traders and market makers to convert feedback into product shipped.
• Set engineering standards for architecture, code quality, testing, and observability.
• Make pragmatic build-versus-integrate decisions to stay fast without debt.
• Partner with design, product, and Foundation teams to shape what gets built.
