Lead Engineer

We are hiring a Lead Engineer for a data center operations role in a large wholesale data center provider. The role involves working on mission‑critical infrastructure facilities operations, ensuring continuous coverage and performing maintenance, inspections, and repair of building systems.

Responsibilities

• Monitoring building infrastructure systems.
• Troubleshooting and repairing building infrastructure systems, HVAC, electrical and other systems.
• Performing preventive maintenance on all building equipment.
• Assembling and commissioning data center equipment.
• Preparing change management forms and methods of procedure (MOPs).
• Scheduling maintenance procedures with vendors.
• Ensuring compliance with safety procedures and mandatory protective equipment usage.
• Responding quickly to emergency situations (fire, evacuation, equipment failure) and customer concerns as required.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree (AA/AS) or equivalent education and experience; data center experience strongly preferred.
• A trade license or certification obtained through technical education or training.
• A facilities maintenance certification.
• Experience working with mission‑critical data equipment and ability to work in a fast‑paced, mission‑critical environment.
• Strong HVAC, mechanical, and electrical skills and experience.
• Understanding of computer systems and proficiency with Microsoft Office products.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to follow instructions and processes precisely and carefully.
• Willingness to work 2nd or 3rd shift, at least one weekend day each week, and unscheduled overtime as needed.
• Ability to walk frequently for inspections, work outdoors as needed, and lift heavy objects.
