Job summary

GE Vernova is seeking an engineering professional to contribute to advanced combustion modeling, simulation, and methods development within the Combustion Design module. You will perform high-end thermoacoustics simulations to assess stability and propose mitigation strategies while collaborating with design engineers and supporting engine programs.

You should have strong CFD/FEA experience, thermoacoustics modeling, and the ability to present results clearly.

Qualifications

  • MS in Mechanical Engineering or closely related discipline.
  • Minimum 4 years of engineering experience in practical applications.
  • Thermoacoustics modeling and signal processing experience.

As a member of the Gas Turbine Engineering organization of GE Gas Power, part of GE Vernova, specifically a member of the Combustion Design module, you will be an active contributor to the advanced modeling, simulation and methods development activities. You will perform high-end thermoacoustics simulations to assess the stability of the combustion system and propose mitigation strategies. You will collaborate with design engineers and work closely with the Controlled Title Holders in supporting engine programs and root cause analysis while ensuring that designs meet all durability, operability, and emissions requirements.

What you’ll do - Key Responsibilities

  • Use simulation and test data processing to conduct combustion dynamics analysis and assess system stability
  • Develop mitigation strategies using thermoacoustics tools
  • Assist in design decisions and root cause analysis by leveraging predictive analysis simulations
  • Execute the analysis or evaluation projects using sound engineering principles and adhering to engineering practices, procedures, and product / program requirements.
  • Document work clearly and effectively present your work (including assumptions, status, and results) in formal and informal reviews.
  • Contribute to the development of best practices and templates to be communicated with the global GE Vernova Combustion community.
  • Embrace Lean principles and drive continuous improvement initiatives.

What you’ll bring - Basic Qualifications

  • Master of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering or closely related discipline
  • Minimum 4 years of engineering experience in a practical application
  • Minimum 4 years of experience solving dynamical systems using CFD, Finite Element codes and/or network models
  • Thermoacoustics modeling and signal processing experience

Relocation Assistance Provided: Yes

For candidates applying to a U.S. based position, the pay range for this position is between $89,300.00 and $148,700.00. The Company pays a geographic differential of 110%, 120% or 130% of salary in certain areas. The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate’s experience, education, and skill set.Bonus eligibility: discretionary annual bonus.
