Job summary

Guidehouse is seeking a Managing Consultant in Houston to lead large, complex energy market engagements and mentor junior staff. You will develop and apply analytical models, forecast market conditions, and translate client needs into actionable work scopes.

Ideal candidates have 5+ years in consulting or energy finance, strong data analytics, and excellent communication skills. Travel up to 25% and ability to work onsite in Guidehouse offices or client sites are required.

Qualifications

• Must be a US citizen or permanent resident due to client engagements.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a relevant field with post-graduate experience in consulting, strategy, or project development.
• Experience with economic dispatch models (Aurora, Origin, PLEXOS, BID3, PSO) is required.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Ability to travel and work in Guidehouse offices or client locations.

Responsibilities

• Originating, closing, leading large and complex client engagements.
• Managing staff and assisting in related business development efforts.
• Tracking and analyzing energy market trends.
• Translating client inquiries into actionable scopes of work.
• Compiling reports and presentations to communicate solutions and analysis.
• Supporting day-to-day management of client relationships.
• Developing and using analytical models, programming, and simulations to forecast market prices.
