Job summary

Pentangle Tech Services | P5 Group in Dallas is seeking a Device & Embedded Systems Architect to own end-to-end hardware and software platform architecture for our device ecosystem, spanning two brands. You will define reference architectures, lead Android platform design, establish OTA and telemetry patterns, and collaborate with ODM/OEM partners to ensure secure, scalable deployments.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of software engineering with at least 5 years focused on embedded systems or mobile platform engineering.
• Deep expertise in Android platform development including AOSP customization and security.
• Experience with MDM/EMM platforms at scale (Android Enterprise, VMware Workspace ONE, etc.).
• Experience architecting embedded telemetry systems and integration with cloud ingestion.
• Proficiency with embedded Linux, kernel modules, and device bring-up concepts.
• Ability to produce clear architecture documentation and influence engineering decisions.

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end technical architecture for device endpoints across brands.
• Lead Android-based device platform design including HAL customization and security hardening.
• Define OTA update framework and telemetry schemas for enterprise pipelines.
• Develop multi-year Android version roadmap aligned to AOSP, EOL dates, and compliance.
• Collaborate with ODM/OEM vendors for BSP updates, security patches, and kernel upgrades.
• Establish governance, ADRs, and documentation; mentor senior engineers.
