Job summary

Curtiss-Wright Corporation is seeking a Lead Embedded Software Engineer for its Defense Solutions Group. You will oversee design, development, and testing of embedded software for DoD-grade products, driving architecture decisions and high-quality solutions.

The role requires strong C/C++, Linux, and real-time embedded experience with DO-178C/CMMI familiarity, plus collaboration across systems and hardware teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, computer engineering or related field.
• 8–12+ years of progressive software development experience.
• 5+ years leading software projects.
• Experience with real-time embedded software and architecture.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to design, development, and testing of embedded software for defense products.
• Lead architecture decisions and resolve advanced software issues.
• Collaborate with systems/hardware teams on solutions.
• Develop software for bootloaders, device drivers, and apps.
• Analyze requirements and generate engineering estimates for bids.
• Create design/test documentation and user manuals.
• Interfacing with customers to address issues and gather feedback.
