Actalent in Illinois is seeking an Embedded Software Engineer to design, develop, verify and maintain real-time embedded software for safety-critical control environments.

Qualifications

• 4-year BS degree plus 4+ years of equivalent experience, or international degree with 4+ years experience.
• Experience in embedded real-time systems and safety-critical environments.
• Ability to lead verification plans, test cases, and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Establish and maintain software development standards and best practices.
• Analyze, troubleshoot, and resolve embedded software issues.
• Design scalable architectures for embedded and real-time systems.
• Lead software projects from inception to delivery with minimal supervision.
• Collaborate across engineering, test, and other stakeholders.
• Communicate complex concepts clearly to technical and non-technical audiences.
• Develop verification plans, test cases, and procedures for embedded systems.
• Execute tests and review results to confirm expected behavior.
• Maintain traceability between requirements, test cases, code, and results.
• Log, track, and retest defects until resolutions are confirmed.
• Work with HIL/SIL/test stands and motor simulation platforms.
