Job summary

L3Harris is seeking a Lead Software Engineer to develop and sustain mission-critical EW software in a cross-platform embedded environment. The role covers requirements analysis, architecture, implementation, integration, automated testing, deployment, and CI/CD release.

The candidate will work with C++ and Rust in Linux-based real-time systems, align with open architecture principles, and collaborate across software, systems, and lab teams. Up to 10% travel to sites may be required.

Qualifications

• Requires a bachelor’s degree with extensive relevant experience or graduate degree with pertinent experience.
• Active Secret Clearance required for role.
• Experience 7+ years in C/C++ software development with embedded RTOS.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain high-reliability C++ and Rust software for embedded, real-time, and Linux-based systems.
• Support end-to-end software lifecycle including requirements, architecture, and CI/CD release.
• Design software architecture using UML and model-based artifacts.
• Ensure open architecture principles for portability and reuse.
• Contribute to MOSA-aligned implementations and integration with open systems.
• Develop within Linux-based environments including cross-compilation for embedded targets.
• Produce documentation for verification, maintainability, and architectural compliance.
• Provide technical leadership in secure coding and software design.
