Signify in Atlanta is seeking a Lead Embedded Software Engineer to head design, development, and optimization of embedded software for connected lighting systems. You will guide projects from concept through release and mentor engineers across global teams.

The role requires 10+ years in embedded software, strong C/C++ and Python, and a track record leading complex technical work. You’ll work with IoT and smart-home technologies and influence technology roadmaps.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field with a focus on embedded systems.
• 10+ years of embedded software development experience, including strong programming skills in C/C++ and Python.
• Strong knowledge of embedded development concepts and experience developing software for resource-constrained platforms.
• Experience with IoT, smart home, connected systems, or similar technologies preferred.
• Demonstrated ability to lead complex technical work, collaborate across functions, and coach or mentor other engineers.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without current or future company sponsorship needs.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, document, and maintain embedded software applications, subsystems, and components aligned with system requirements and industry standards.
• Create optimized, high-performance software solutions for resource-constrained platforms and integrate into connected products and systems.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, global technical communities, and research organizations to incorporate customer needs and emerging technologies.
• Produce technical specifications, development reports, design documentation, and other project deliverables while supporting IP creation and protection.
• Contribute to technology roadmaps and provide technical coaching to strengthen the team’s embedded software capabilities.
