Job summary

Signify in Atlanta, GA is seeking a Lead Embedded Software Engineer to join the Wavelinx WAC team in Atlanta, Georgia or Peachtree City, Georgia. You will lead design, development, testing, and optimization of embedded software for connected systems, collaborating with cross-functional and global teams to bring high-performance software from concept to product release.

Must have 10+ years' embedded experience with C/C++ and Python, a degree in CS/EE, and experience with IoT.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field with a focus on embedded systems.
• 10+ years of embedded software development experience with C/C++ and Python.
• Strong knowledge of embedded development concepts for resource-constrained platforms.
• Experience with IoT, smart home, connected systems, or similar tech preferred.
• Proven ability to lead complex technical work and mentor engineers.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, document, and maintain embedded software applications and components aligned with requirements and standards.
• Create optimized, high-performance software for resource-constrained platforms and integrate into connected products.
• Collaborate with cross-functional and global teams to incorporate needs and emerging tech.
• Produce technical specifications, development reports, and design documentation; support IP creation.

This is an exciting opportunity for a Lead Embedded Software Engineer to join our Wavelinx WAC team in Atlanta, Georgia or Peachtree City, Georgia, with Signify.

Cooper Lighting Solutions, a business unit of Signify, the world leader in lighting.

In this role, you will lead the design, development, testing, and optimization of embedded software solutions for connected systems. You will collaborate with cross-functional and global teams to develop reliable, high-performance software from concept through product release.

What you’ll do

• Design, develop, test, document, and maintain embedded software applications, subsystems, and components aligned with system requirements, project goals, and industry standards.
• Create optimized, high-performance software solutions for resource-constrained platforms and support their successful integration into connected products and systems.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, global technical communities, and research organizations to incorporate customer needs, market insights, and emerging technologies into engineering solutions.
• Produce technical specifications, development reports, design documentation, and other project deliverables while supporting intellectual property creation and protection.
• Contribute to technology roadmaps and provide technical coaching and mentoring to strengthen the team’ s embedded software knowledge and capabilities.

More about you

• Bachelor’ s or master’ s degree in computer science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field with a focus on embedded systems.
• 10 or more years of embedded software development experience, including strong programming skills in C/C++ and Python.
• Strong knowledge of embedded development concepts and experience developing software for resource-constrained platforms.
• Experience working with IoT, smart home, connected systems, or similar technologies preferred.
• Demonstrated ability to lead complex technical work, collaborate across functions, and coach or mentor other engineers.

Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without current or future company sponsorship needs.

Salary & Benefits

Salary: $122,570 $163,420 (based on experience level)

Bonus: target bonus opportunity 15%
