Job summary

Alcon, Lake Forest, CA, is seeking a Principal I, Embedded Software Engineer to lead the design and development of embedded software for medical devices in a regulated environment. You will mentor engineers, guide architecture decisions, and ensure robust software for millions of patients while adhering to GxP and SOPs.

You will work on CMX/ThreadX RTOS, C/C++, board bring-up, and debugging across peripherals, with cross-functional collaboration to align with regulatory requirements and product

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in related field or 13+ years experience in lieu of a degree.
• 5+ years of relevant embedded software experience.
• Fluent English communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design and implementation of complex embedded software solutions.
• Provide technical guidance to engineering teams and mentor junior engineers.
• Collaborate with product management to ensure software meets business needs.
