Job summary

Alcon, based in Lake Forest, California, seeks a Principal I, Embedded Software Engineer to lead the design and development of software for medical devices in a real-time environment. You will work on challenging embedded projects, writing design and test docs to ensure safety and regulatory compliance.

You will guide engineering teams, collaborate with product management, and drive technical direction across projects while leveraging CMX/ThreadX RTOS and modern development practices.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in a related field or substantial experience
• 5 years of relevant embedded software experience
• Fluent reading/writing/understanding English
• Experience with RTOS and multi-threaded apps

Responsibilities

• Lead design and implementation of complex software solutions
• Provide technical guidance and mentor junior engineers
• Collaborate with product management to meet business needs
• Ensure best practices and optimize development processes
