Job summary

Aptiv seeks an Embedded Software Lead for its Connected Services Edge Applications team. You will guide the design, development, and lifecycle of embedded edge software for an automotive data logging and IoT platform, spanning embedded Linux to OTA updates and vehicle data acquisition.

You will mentor a high-performing team, drive secure, scalable software on fast-paced automotive programs, and collaborate across international teams to improve reliability and operational performance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
• 10+ years of professional C++ software development experience.
• 5+ years of technical leadership in embedded software teams.
• Proven track record designing and debugging embedded systems.
• Experience with automotive in-vehicle networking CAN/CAN-FD and LIN.
• Strong Linux expertise and shell scripting.
• Experience in Agile software environments and MISRA/C++ Core Guidelines.
• Ability to mentor engineers and lead cross-functional teams.
• Willingness to collaborate with international teams across time zones.

Responsibilities

• Lead architecture, design, and lifecycle of edge application software for a connected automotive data logging and IoT platform.
• Own software delivery across planning, implementation, integration, validation, release, and sustainment.
• Drive edge-to-cloud communication, OTA updates, embedded security, and data acquisition workflows.
• Investigate production issues across distributed and embedded systems.
• Ensure quality through coding standards, reviews, test automation, and performance optimization.
• Collaborate with systems analysts, platform teams, and cloud teams to improve reliability and scalability.
