Job summary

Actalent is seeking a Hardware Engineer to lead and execute the design and development of automotive embedded hardware. You will drive requirements analysis, architecture, schematic design, EMC considerations, and hardware validation while mentoring a small team of engineers.

The role emphasizes collaboration with cross-functional teams to deliver robust hardware solutions that meet performance, quality, and timing targets. Experience with Cadence, WCCA, and automotive bus protocols is preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• 5+ years automotive embedded hardware experience.
• Proven ability to lead a small hardware team with technical direction.
• Strong embedded hardware design experience for automotive applications.
• Experience with schematic entry and PCB layout using Cadence is a plus.
• Familiarity with ALM tools and IPC standards is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Analyze requirements and derive hardware design, verification, and validation criteria using ALM tools.
• Lead and review activities to design, prototype, and validate automotive hardware solutions.
• Coordinate with cross-functional teams and suppliers to meet timing and quality targets.
• Produce high-quality schematics and PCB layouts meeting EMC and regulatory standards.
• Document technical information and maintain libraries for global designs.
• Integrate LIN and CAN buses into embedded hardware designs.
